About Us
From Becky:
Matt (33) and I (30) have been married for 3 years, and have known each other for 5 years. We met at a Christmas party for a volunteer organization, and it was love at first sight! Work-life balance has always been very important to both of us, and we have proven it over the years. Since Matt moved his office to our home, his hours have shrunk even more! Our home is filled with laughter, since Matt is the funniest, silliest guy in the world and is constantly making me laugh.
Our families are both tight-knit and supportive. They live nearby, so we get to see them very regularly. We also often vacation together. About every-other Sunday is a family fest, where about 30 family members get together to eat and enjoy the afternoon. There's always something to celebrate with such a large group, and many kids running around.
Matt and I both love to travel and experience different cultures. We both traveled a lot before we met, and we have since continued our passion for travel together. We look forward to sharing this passion with our child when we will travel as a family.

In the course of searching for a birth mother, I've learned that some prospective parents are uncomfortable with adoption. Why adopt, they say. Isn't the goal in life to pass our genes on to the next generation? Isn't that what biology tells us, that we reproduce in order to ensure the survival of our DNA? That may be true, but my DNA can go jump in the lake. To me, it is hardly important to pass on my particular strand of DNA to another generation. I'd rather pass on love.
Not only love, but wisdom, intelligence, compassion, spirit, friendliness, generosity, education, open-mindedness, and all the other things I believe make up the best of humanity. I can't say that I've always been perfect on any of these traits, but I promise I will always try to be for myself, for my wife, and for my child.

The Basics
- Matt and Becky live in Chicago, IL.
- Matt is an Attorney.
- Becky is a Teacher, but will become a stay-at-home Mom.
- Bootsie and Emma are 4-year-old Yorkies.
- Matt is 33 and Becky is 30.
- We will provide 4 youthful Great-Grandparents, 4 loving Grandparents, 4 involved aunts/uncles (so far), and 2 first cousins (so far). The extended family is 40+ and we are very tight-knit. There are many babies, toddlers, and kids who love to play together regularly. Our entire family is eager to welcome our new baby.
- We are open to birth-parent and birth-family involvement in our child’s life.
Interests
- Matt is currently working with a new pedometer to improve his fitness. He is often seen marching in place late in the evening if he has not met his daily goal.
- Matt loves to write comedy and he has even produced a live show with friends.
- Matt and Becky are both avid readers.
- Becky likes to bake and kayak when she gets the chance.
- While at home Becky receives a lot of help from Bootsie and Emma (Yorkies) with whatever she's doing. They are always at her side and she is always talking or singing to them. She has made up some ridiculous songs that only they understand.
- Domestic and international travel are passions for both Matt and Becky.
